After switching to the European navigation region, your BMW’s iDrive will have:

EU Region Change — Common Scenarios
US-Spec BMW Imported to Europe (US → EU)
Popular in Germany, Netherlands, and Belgium where grey-market US-spec M-models and special editions are imported. US-spec BMWs arrive with North America maps, mph instrument clusters, and US POI databases. We switch everything to European specification in one remote session.
Japanese / Korean BMW Imported to Europe (JP/KR → EU)
Japanese grey-market BMWs (right-hand drive converted or left-hand drive JDM spec) occasionally appear in European markets. Navigation region switch from Japan to Europe is available.
Middle East BMW Relocated to Europe (ME → EU)
GCC-spec BMWs moved to Europe (common among Saudi/UAE expats relocating to Germany or UK) need EU map region. We switch from GCC/Middle East to full European coverage.

Europe vs UK: Are They the Same Region?
No. Since Brexit, BMW treats the UK as a separate navigation region from continental Europe. If you want both European mainland maps AND UK maps, you need both regions licensed — contact us for pricing on combined EU + UK packages.
