How do I know if my BMW has the 360 cameras physically installed?
Look for small camera lenses in the front grille (or M badge), under the side mirrors, and in the trunk handle (4 cameras total for surround view). If you see 4 lenses, your hardware is installed — only software activation is needed.
My BMW has 4 cameras but only shows reverse view. How is that possible?
BMW often installs all 4 360 cameras at the factory but only activates the rear camera as standard. Surround View was a paid option in many markets — the side and front cameras are wired but software-disabled. This module unlocks them.
Will it work on F-chassis (older) or only G-chassis BMWs?
Both. Compatible with F-chassis 5/7 Series and X3-X7 (~2014-2018) and G-chassis 3/4/5/6/7/8 Series and X3-X7 (2018+) — provided the 4-camera hardware is physically installed.
Will the parking lines / dynamic guides also work?
Yes. All Surround View features activate together: top-down 3D view, dynamic guidelines that follow steering angle, blind-spot side cameras, and tow-hitch alignment view.
