Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my BMW CarPlay only showing in a small box on the screen?
BMW’s stock CarPlay implementation on NBT EVO uses a windowed layout that wastes screen real estate. This activation switches it to full-screen mode so CarPlay (Maps, music, messages) uses your entire display.
Will this work on iDrive 7 (MGU) or only NBT EVO?
This specific activation targets NBT EVO / iDrive 6 (typically 2017-2019 BMW models). iDrive 7 (MGU) handles CarPlay differently and we have a separate module for those vehicles.
Do I need to bring my car to you, or is this remote?
It’s a remote coding service performed via OBD interface. You connect a compatible OBD cable (we can include one), we connect remotely and apply the change in 10-15 minutes.
Will this affect any other iDrive functions?
No. The change is isolated to CarPlay display behavior. Native iDrive, navigation, radio, vehicle settings โ all unaffected.
Is the change reversible if I sell the car?
Yes. We can revert to factory windowed-mode CarPlay any time via a second remote session at no extra charge within the warranty period.
