Frequently Asked Questions
Can I just code start-stop off via BimmerCode instead?
Some F-chassis BMWs accept BimmerCode start-stop off, but G-chassis (2019+) and many newer F-chassis ignore the coding flag and re-enable start-stop. This module overrides at the signal level — works on every BMW including resistant models.
Is this only for newer BMWs or older too?
Compatible with F-chassis (2012-2019) and G-chassis (2019+) — covers 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 Series, X1-X7, Z4, M2-M8. Reads chassis from CAN bus and applies appropriate logic automatically.
Will it affect my battery or charging system?
No. Start-stop off actually reduces strain on the AGM battery from constant cranking. CAN bus charging logic continues normally.
Will my car still go into 'sailing' or hybrid coast mode?
Yes. Sailing/coast modes are independent of start-stop and continue to operate. Only the auto stop-at-lights behavior is disabled.
Can I temporarily re-enable start-stop on hot days for the AC?
Yes — press the factory start-stop button once during a drive to override module-off behavior for that ignition cycle. Module re-applies preference next start.
