Sound familiar?
- Your iDrive 9 has no CarPlay at all — or only the wired version — and every phone connection feels like a compromise.
- BMW quoted you over $1,000 to retrofit wireless CarPlay at the dealership, for a feature that should have shipped from the factory.
- You bought a 2023–2025 BMW and assumed wireless CarPlay was included, then discovered it wasn't on your trim level.
- You're tired of plugging in a cable every single time you get in the car while your passenger's cheaper vehicle connects automatically.
- Android Auto isn't supported on your head unit at all, and you're stuck choosing between a bad experience and a new car.
- Your colleague's newer 5 Series has full Google Maps and split-screen on the iDrive display — yours doesn't, and it's the same year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does iDrive 9 already have CarPlay? Why do I need this?
iDrive 9 (curved-display BMWs from 2023+) supports wired Apple CarPlay but Android Auto support and wireless behavior have been inconsistent across markets and updates. This module gives you 100% wireless, both protocols, no surprises after software updates.
Which 2023+ BMW models is this for?
iDrive 9 (curved display) is on the latest G-chassis models including G20 LCI, G30 LCI, G05 LCI, G06, G07, G42 LCI, and the new G60/G70. Anything sold from 2023 onwards with the curved center display is iDrive 9.
Will it survive future BMW software (OS9.x) updates?
Yes. The box is independent of BMW's iDrive operating system — it presents itself as a generic infotainment source over standard protocols. BMW OTA updates don't affect it.
Can I keep using my factory wired CarPlay alongside this?
Yes — both work in parallel. Plug your phone in for wired session, or connect wirelessly via this module. They don't interfere.
How is wireless connection quality vs wired?
Indistinguishable for music, calls, and Maps. Native HD video streaming apps that need >50 Mbps may show minor compression vs wired but is fine for normal CarPlay/AA usage.
