How do I know if I need a new injector vs other fuel issues?

Common symptoms of a failed injector: misfire codes (P0301-P0306), rough idle especially on cold start, fuel smell from oil dipstick, sudden drop in MPG. A scan tool showing per-cylinder misfires is the clearest indicator. We recommend BMW dealer or independent diagnostic before replacing.
